Camping at Pasul Rotunda – MUNTII RODNEI

Right after my experience in exploring Varful Pietrosul – Muntii Rodnei, I had the desire to also hike the 2nd highest summit in these mountains.

I have left my home town around 3pm and arrived at Pasul Rotunda, the place from where I will have start my journey to the summit, and it took me over 4h to get to this place due to my last 20-30 km which was quite a bad off road and a bit difficult to go through with my car.

I did manage somehow to go through the big ponds, potholes and arrive to Pasul Rotunda where I have set up my tent, eat and carefully made just a small little fire to set up the mood for the evening.

Once I sing my song, I got into the tent and got ready for a good night sleep and an early wake up to properly start my journey to Vf. Ineu.

IMPRESSIONS – ROMANIAN – STREET FOOD FESTIVAL

IMPRESSIONS – ROMANIAN – STREET FOOD FESTIVAL

Prices at the street food festival were somewhat higher compared to the prices in town. For a burger + fries + drink + desert you could spend anywhere between €15 – €18.

POROLISSUM – the roman military camp – Romania

Porolissum was an ancient Roman city in Dacia. Established as a military camp in 106 during Trajan’s Dacian Wars, the city quickly grew through trade with the native Dacians and became the capital of the province Dacia Porolissensis in 124. The site is one of the largest and best-preserved archaeological sites in modern-day Romania. It is 8 km away from the modern city of Zalău, in Moigrad-Porolissum village, Mirsid Commune, Sălaj County.

Flying through the seasons – ROMANIA

I am really excited about this video. In 2018 I have traveled to around 15 different locations in Romania and managed to film some amazing landscapes and vibrant cities throughout the four seasons.

I have started my journey from my home town and went as far as Poiana Brasov to the south, Maramures to the north, Oradea to the vest and as high as 2303 m altitude to the top of Rodna Mountains.

I have walked through the most amazing green fields with spring flowers I have ever seen, survived the heath of the summer, been blown away by the beautiful colors of the autumn and witnessed the most wonderful winter from the past couple of years.

I really hope you will enjoy this 4K areal video showcasing ROMANIA and that you will share it with your friends to promote this awesome piece of land to the world.

This video was filmed entirely with my DJI MAVIC PRO.

Guys weekend away – Belis, Romania

Weekend away with the guys. I met these dudes shortly after I have moved back to Romania and we immediately became BFFs 🙂 due the our great passion, driven by the same purpose, our core mission, that one big thing we have in common which is …well let me start from the beginning.

Sabin, the dude who spent about 10 years in Germany, became the Charles Parson of their country, a symbol of engineering, changed their entire industry until the day he was driven by a bigger purpose.

Koh, the one and only Japanese Jedi engineer, whom The Force sent on a special adventure to serve his biggest mission as of now.

Patric, after his 5 years in the stunning highlands of Scotland, the land of the finest whiskeys, the birth place of the Loch Ness monster and the horrible midges, he was drawn by a new purpose and a new place.

Matteo, the Italian godfather of metallurgy, sole scientist of Tony Stark, the man who made Iron Man happen, after smoking from his wooden pipe, which he received from Gandalf itself, had a vision about a place in the heart of Transylvania, the place of the biggest roman settlement and without any hesitations followed his vision.

…and there’s me, after 5 years serving the Queen of Great Britain I was sent back to my home land, where together with these fellows united our dream of making Zalau and Romania great again… hahaha :)))

We organized a weekend away in the amazing Natural Park of Apuseni, in Belis at over 1000m altitude, to have some fun over a good BBQ.

We nicely put the meat in a deep ceramic bowl to marinate. Salt, pepper, paprika, soy sauce, wine, wurst and brandy, I think everyone can guess who put which ingredient :)))

Believe it or not, it became the most epic bbq I had in a long time.

Sibiu, Romania – The cultural capital city of Europe

Sibiu, one of the most beautiful places I have been so far in Romania. The old town is one of Romania’s hidden gems. Rich in color, architecture and a pleasure to get lost in.

Before going into my next location, Sighisoara, I had a few more hours to spare in Sibiu, so I decided to roam around a little bit more in the old town.

I woke up early on Sunday morning and walked towards the town, it’s really chill outside and quiet. Perfect time to take some nice architecture photos without tourists and locals in in the way.

I have discovered some beautiful places, little colorful narrow alleys which are perfect spots for photography. While admiring these places I realize what a beautiful country is Romania. I can’t wait to discover more in the year to come.

The silence was  broken by a warm big bang bell sound from the cathedrals around the old town. People are slowly showing up, greeting each-other on the streets and are gathering in their church congregations.

I stop at the Christmas market once more to grab something to eat and following it up with a good Starbucks coffee, although I am not a Starbucks fan…it was perfect for to boost my energy in continuing my journey.

Sibiu, it was a pleasing and satisfying place to visit, totally recommend it.

I am taking the train to Sighisoara, the city I have been waiting to see for such a long time. I am extremely excited.
